Summer Writing Week
Summer Writing Week
Five mornings of reading, writing and reflection
This July, Bee Writing Lab will host a small Summer Writing Week: five mornings dedicated to literature, creative practice, discussion, and the development of new writing.
The week is designed as a literary writing and reading immersion in a small group. Rather than focusing on lectures, the emphasis will be on close reading, conversation, writing exercises, reflection, and experimentation.
Participants are welcome whether they are already working on a writing project or simply wish to deepen their engagement with creative writing and literature.
What to expect
During the week, we will read and discuss selected literary texts, paying attention to voice, image, point of view, detail, structure, atmosphere, and the ways in which experience can be transformed into language.
Each morning will combine guided reading, short writing exercises, time for individual writing, and optional sharing within the group.
The aim is not to produce a finished piece by the end of the week, but to open new paths, generate material, sharpen attention, and create a thoughtful space for writing.
Who is it for?
The Summer Writing Week is open to adults who are interested in creative writing, literature, and the practice of close attention.
You may already be writing fiction, memoir, essays, fragments, poetry, or hybrid forms. You may also be at the beginning of your writing practice and looking for a supportive space to explore.
No previous formal writing experience is required.
