The Labs are open to beginners, returning writers, and non-native speakers.
Our World Needs Better Stories
Learning to shape effective narratives and good stories is a gift, to oneself and to others. Writing brings attention, connection, imagination, and a deeper sense of meaning.
Bee Writing Lab is a Brussels-based literary writing space where people gather to write, and explore fiction in small groups. Through writing experiences, courses, mentoring, literary gatherings, and collaborations, we support each writer’s unique voice and creative development. Groups are limited to five participants, allowing for thoughtful discussion, close reading, and personalised feedback.
A Gradual Path into Writing
Writing at the Bee unfolds gradually.
From the Inspiration Lab, participants may continue through fiction or non-fiction pathways, exploring story, craft, reflection, and voice.
Along the way, participants may join Literary Gatherings: reading evenings, salons, outings, and collective writing experiences.
Different Pathways, One Entrance
The entrance: Inspirational Beginners' Lab
A space to slow down, observe, and write. Through prompts, images, close reading, and creative exercises, participants discover their writing flow and begin finding their own voice. No previous experience is required.
The Different Pathways
Most writers begin with the Inspiration Lab and continue through fiction or non-fiction pathways. More experienced writers may also join the Bee at a stage that matches their interests, experience, and current work.
Fiction: Story Lab & Craft Lab
- The Story Lab explores the making of a story through the Filter Method.
- The Craft Lab focuses on literary technique, close reading, and the development of voice and narrative skill.
Non Fiction: Life Writing Lab
Reflective and exploratory writing experiences devoted to expression, attention, memory, and life writing.
Mentoring
Individual guidance for writers working on short stories, novels, manuscripts, or personal writing projects through close reading, feedback, and conversation.

About the Bee

Based in Brussels, Bee Writing Lab is led by Evi Anastasiadou, writer and founder of the Lab, whose work focuses on literature, creative writing, and narrative practice.
The Bee was created as a small literary space devoted to deep reading, literary writing, and shared attention through language, imagination, and storytelling.
Groups remain intentionally small, allowing close attention to each participant’s creative process and development.
Those who wish to discover the atmosphere and approach of the Bee Writing Lab may join one of the monthly Introductory Sessions.
Beyond the Lab: Literary Gatherings & Collaborations
Reading evenings, literary salons, outings, and collective writing experiences that create opportunities for encounter, conversation, and shared attention through literature.
The Bee also collaborates with schools, libraries, cultural organisations, and communities on literary and educational projects.
